  • Back when DW had a heavy social media campaign years ago, DW approached my friend on tumblr (he had over 250,000 followers) and gave him a bunch of watches for free to reblog their adds. He never wore watches so I got some for free. They are great watches when they are free, however, I'd never spend money on them haha

  • Lack of seconds hand makes me think about fact that seconds hands on cheap movements go out of markers so people would know they r using cheapest movement inside🤣

  • Shite watches, get a seiko 5, an oyster bracelet and get it sized properly in timpsons and then grab a Costa and some food with the change

  • Well done. Seems every generation has its alpha predators… DW, Kardashians, celebrity brands, countless influencer shills… all greedy fartbag vampires pretending to do you a favor welcoming you "into the VIP club" while laughing behind your back as your money becomes theirs and the planet fills up with disposable, forgettable, worthless status-crap. They are quite incestuous among themselves too: The Kardashians shill DW products on social media. Like likes like.

I haven't encountered anyone wearing a DW yet, but when that moment comes, I plan to spend a good ten minutes metaphorically sizing them up. Are the shoes also fashion crap, worn sockless, with moussed vertical hair and subtly aggressive cologne? Do they constantly walk about in a hurried, oblivious, self-important huff? Or might they simply be an impulsive chap who was unwittingly duped by hostile marketing? Either way, I wouldn't break the illusion unless asked. In which case I'd gently nudge them toward this video and hope for the best (turning a tourist into a true watch collector).

Thumbs up for keeping it real. Knowledge is power. Or, at least, the contentment of certainty in a sea of roiling, status-obsessed indifference. 🙂

  • I am not a big fan of DW watches, however, to say that this is perhaps the worst watch brand, or CHEAP TRASH, is a major overstatement. DW watches are not the worst. For low priced watches, they are decent quality. The MIYOTA movement is of decent quality, the watches look simple, clean, slim, and have a variety of case sizes for different wrist sizes. The bezels are sleek, which gives them a stylish look. Most mainstream watches look ugly in comparison. My only reservation about DW watch is that they are a little overpriced for what they offer. If they cost around $50, I think they are pretty good looking watches that are decent in quality. I agree that many people (including myself) don't like most of their straps, they are of poor quality, extremely stiff, etc. So what: do I need to start with Seiko straps? They (low priced Seiko straps) are disastrous! I own a number of Seiko watches and frankly $2 watch bands from China are better quality than some of the Seiko bands.

  • You can buy better watches on AliExpress for a fraction of the price. I wouldn't want that Plain Jane anywhere near my wrist.

  • Looks like trash to me. I never heard of these DW watches before except from these watch review channels. Well, I'm no millennial either and don't bother with social media and I don't give a shit about celebrity endorsements from celebrities I never heard of. I don't really care for these minimalist watches either. BUT, I certainly think your Timex and Casio alternatives are a MUCH better way to go over that DW watch. But if I really wanted a slim watch I would probably got for a Skagen. They have nice, attractive slim watches.

  • After consideration, and upon motion duly seconded, I would consider a vintage Vacheron Constantin Patrimony self-winding made in1980s. lol

  • No second hand means people can fool themselves into believing its not a cheap quartz. I'll stick with my F-91W Casio. At least it's the real deal.
